Its good to use the 4 second following distance so if the person in front of you stops very fast you have 4 seconds to try to stop. If your at in intersection its good so if the person in front of you is driving a standard if they try to go they might roll back a little bit and if you use the 4 second following distance then you have a good chance they wont hit you.
